Welcome to Bytes and Bolts, my corner of the internet where I document my adventures in software engineering, DIY projects, and everything in between.

I started this site back in 2015 as a personal playground. It was a space for me to get my hands dirty with web development, experiment with the Ghost blogging platform, and have a live server to test new ideas. Over the years, it has evolved into a journal of my passions—a place where I can share the satisfaction of building something from scratch, whether it’s a piece of software or a backyard project.

What You’ll Find Here
#

This blog is a reflection of my multifaceted interests. One day I might be writing about the intricacies of setting up a CI/CD pipeline on a Raspberry Pi, and the next I could be detailing the process of building a brick smoker or installing custom backyard lighting.

Here are some of the topics I enjoy exploring:

  • Software Engineering: From tutorials on automating deployments with Go to deep dives into fixing obscure SSL bugs.
  • DIY Projects: Follow along as I tackle everything from stamped concrete patios to custom-built industrial furniture.
  • Home Improvement: Learn from my experiences with car repairs, hardwood floor installations, and other hands-on projects around the house.
  • Tech Tinkering: Join me as I experiment with new technologies, review hardware, and share my thoughts on the ever-evolving world of tech.
